On December 31, 2007 I left my job with Sprint/Embarq where I worked as a Software Engineer for 15 years at the Sprint Campus in Kansas City. In January 2008 Mary and I started Steve Brown Ministries and started traveling the United States broadcasting "Live Video" of Revivals, Bible Conferences, Mission Conferences, and other Special Services. Mary and I enjoy serving the Lord Jesus Christ and traveling to churches as we minister through SteveBrownMinistries.com. We are very pleased that our ministry is endorsed and we are sent out of our home church at Heritage Baptist Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Charleston, SC to Savannah, GA

Bridge Leaving Sullivan's Island

Old Texaco Service Station at US Hwy 17 & SR 303

We started our morning in Charleston, South Carolina. We took our time leaving town and visited Charles Pinckney's home outside of town. Charles Pinckney drafted much of the US Constitution and was also a signer. We thoroughly enjoyed our free tour of the home and a 20 minute video of his life.

We went out to Sullivan's Island so we could get a picture of Fort Sumter. The fort was 1.25 miles off shore. The island had some of the most beautiful homes right on the Atlantic Ocean. The water came right up to the steps on one home we visited.

As we journeyed toward Savannah, Georgia we found this old Texaco service station. It brought back many memories.

Steve,

I, too, took a picture of the old Texaco station on Hwy 17, on the way from Beaufort to Charleston.

Well, yesterday, I passed by it and was saddened to see that all vestages of a Texaco station are gone. The building is still there, but with yellow tape around it.

I don't know if they are moving it somewhere else, or not. I found your blog, trying to find more info on its fate.

They are widening 17. Progress has its price.
