New Pelican PC600 Water Filter
After a couple weeks research for a whole house water filter this website settled it for me. www.comparehomewaterfilters.com
We received our new Pelican Water Filter today from WaterFilter-USA. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. Maybe Scott will help me install it tomorrow.

I would love to know how you are liking your Pelican water filter. I found the exact same website you referenced in your post. I was about to go with Aquasana until I found this website! Please post comments or a review of how you are liking this product. Thanks!
Ditto for me. Found the site and my wife is begging me to put in a filter system.
Is this Loose Carbon Media? If so, isn't it supposed to be very unhealthy as bacteria would grown in it very happily?
Avoid Aquasana. They manipulate their "reviews" by operating multiple domains which make it seem like they are objective and "highly recommend AS", but they are far from it. i.e. Consumers Digest Magazine, which awards them the "best filter of the year" OVER and OVER. completely bogus. The filters are average at best. Unfortunately I cant find a legit site that doesn't have an agenda or earn affiliate commissions, so Im also interested to hear how this pelican filter tests out from a "real person".
Any review of how you are liking the Pelican whole house water filter so far?
Is it my imagination, or was the Aquasana filter listed on that website you referenced, but now is no longer there? Interesting...
Please post a review when you get a chance. I know of people who have Aquasana, but you are the only one I know of who has the Pelican.
Here's to healthy water!
I own both a Pelican whole house water filter and an Aquasana. You all are probably confused. I bought my pelican from WaterFilter USA. They also sell Aquasana products. Nothing unusual about a company selling various or many manufacturer's products.
Not sure how I found this blog now, but I know the folks at WaterFilters because I bought my pelican from them. Aquasana is also one of the best and least expensive water filters out there. I am giving up my R.O. to use one.
Hope that helps.
I've been using the Aquasana rhino for a couple years and love it! Its so nice to be able to give my kids a healthy bath with no chlorine in it. My family loves the water. I have recommended it to my friends and family...hope they enjoy it like I do.
My family is in the market for a water treatment system for our home. Can you give ANY update on your Pelican system???? This seems to be a decent alternative to Rainsoft, etc....
Has Steve ever answered these questions? Are you still there?!
My home has BAD water: hard, acid, red, etc. Does anyone have suggestioons? I tried GE filter but they clog up weekly.
TOMOL
How can you trust a reveiw from a website that is affiliated with the products they sale. If you simply click on about us you could see that. There are tons and I'm talking tons of websites that appear they are 3rd party review sites but they are owned and operated by the company themselves. Aquasana is one of them. www.comparehomewaterfilters.com is another.
Anyone have an true honest opinion on the pelican system or any other systems?
I am not happy with the Pelican water system...it has left severe residue on silverware and is basically eatign my skin with dryness.
I came to learn about Pelican water filter after I recommended Aquasana's to my friends. They did some research about Aquasan and came back to me and asked me about Pelican's.
It is sad to hear Chad's comments about how Aqusana manipulated their reviews because they don't have to (if they ever did) in my opinion. This is the 10th year I am with Aquasana Rino. I replaced the main filter once about 3 years ago, after running it for near 7 years. Throughout this period, I didn't see much degradation of the quality of my water. I use the water directly for my 50-gallon fish tank as well without dechlorination (changing 1/3 of the water once a while). The fish were all happy with that. Of course, the water test confirmed that the chlorine level was consistently minimal. I didn't vigorously test the levels of organic compounds and heavy metals though. This is my experience. Pelican water filters look quite decent to me, too. I may try it if my friends come back with good experience with it.
The website "compare home water filters" that convinced you to go with Pelican, is actually a comparison done by a company that has ties with Pelican. So Aquasana isn't the only one. It is really hard to tell what are the facts and which company to go with.
